State Historical Museum, Moscow

At the turn of the 19th century the art of enamel and filigree was flourishing. Colors became more various — from bright colors to pastel ones, filigree ornament has got new decorative importance and was used not only as an auxiliary frame. Traditional filigree ornaments were added by new forms (geometrical elements, spirals, granulated balls, stylized trees, flowers and birds).

Art industry development was parallel to the transformation of the interiors. Since the second half of the 19th century many decorative objects including jewellery: silver vases, ladles, bratinas, cocktail sets, desk-sets, candlesticks, etc. decorated the interiors. New forms appeared mostly in objects of everyday use and toilet, as well as in tableware.
